“The people who walk in darkness have seen a great light” (Isaiah 9:1)

When we were little, we were raised to be polite children. We were taught to speak in complete sentences, and trained to say, “Yes, sir,” and, “No ma’am”, to elders. Of course, we were also taught the “magic words” – “Please” and “Thank You”.

Sometimes the words “Thank You” do not seem adequate, so we also want to say, “Thank God” for people like you.

Our hearts overflow with gratitude, and our joy spills over to those around us who are most in need. We need to extend our gratitude as well to those who touch our lives, who love us, who minister to us, and who make the world we live in a warmer and kinder place. Our appreciation works both inside and out, backwards and forwards. As we express our gratefulness to the people who have given themselves to us, we minister to them and honor them for their faithfulness to God

Let’s face it; it’s hard sometimes to extend grace to others. It’s difficult to rejoice when other receive blessing and honor, especially when we think they don’t deserve it. But isn’t that what grace is—a gift not based on deserving?

We struggle to reconcile the inequities of life, when what God wants from us is to surrender to the way of grace. “From the fullness of God’s grace,” John says “we have all received one blessing after another” (John 1:16). And in response, we are called to let grace fill our hearts and overflow into our interactions with others.

Everything is a gift—the loving relationships that surround us, the call to significant work, and the material provisions that meet and exceed our needs.

We have nothing to lose and everything to gain by being gracious to others who “get more than they deserve.” God calls us to join the festivities, to make merry with our sisters and our brothers who are less fortunate, and who have, at long last, returned home.

We hope that you will join us, and continue to support Holy Rosary International Medical Mission providing medical care and services to the poor and sick in third-world countries such as those in Southeast Asia.

Thank you and thank God for people like you who are willing to kindle that light for the children in orphanages, the young, and the elderly in conditions that make it difficult to perform even the simple daily tasks of life.

From the fullness of God’s grace, may He continue to bless you and may you continue to spread hope to people who are in need.

Our sincere thanks,
